María del Mar Díaz, M.S., CCC-SLP

María del Mar completed her master’s degree in Speech Pathology at Carlos Albizu University, San Juan Campus, Puerto Rico, and is certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). She has specialized and trained in the management of swallowing disorders, medically known as dysphagia.

Throughout her professional career, she has worked in hospital settings, evaluating and treating patients with dysphagia and speech and language issues. Most of her patients have been in critical care, including those with respiratory conditions, strokes, tracheostomies, dementia, Parkinson’s disease, and other neurological disorders.

María del Mar also served as a clinical supervisor, educating and training students during their clinical rotations with a focus on dysphagia. Additionally, she worked as a university professor, teaching the dysphagia course at the master’s level.
