Dr. Laureano Giráldez Rodríguez, MD FACS
Expert in Otorhinolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery
Professor in the Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery Section at the University of Puerto Rico. He obtained his Bachelor’s in Philosophy from Boston College in Massachusetts and graduated with honors from the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine. He completed his residency in Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Puerto Rico and specialized in voice, swallowing, and airway disorders at the Emory Voice Center in Atlanta. Later, he completed a second subspecialty in Head and Neck Cancer, Transoral Robotic Surgery (TORS), and Microvascular Reconstruction at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City. Dr. Giráldez Rodríguez is one of the few double-fellowshiped trained Otolaryngologists in the United States and its territories. He has over ten years of experience in private and academic practice and. Dr. Giráldez-Rodriguez has been a pioneer of transoral robotic head and neck surgery and microvascular reconstructive surgery in Puerto Rico and the Caribbean. He has published numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals and contributed to various textbook chapters in his specialty.
