Amparito Cortés Vélez, M.S., CCC-SLP

Graduate in Speech and Language Pathology, with specialized training in vocology

Graduated with highest honors from Carlos Albizu University in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and trained in vocology at the National Center for Voice & Speech at the University of Utah, specializing in voice habilitation and rehabilitation.

Licensed Cortés is an adjunct professor at Carlos Albizu University, teaching voice, anatomy, and physiology courses, and supervising master’s program interns. She is also the first resource for Speak OUT! and LOUD Crowd for patients with Parkinson’s.

Her clinical practice focuses primarily on voice rehabilitation, providing services to patients with functional and organic voice disorders, including muscle tension dysphonia. She works with occupational voice users such as professors, preachers, coaches, and executives in public and private companies.
